CONTAMINATED SITE REMEDIATION LAW

Contaminated Site Remediation Law in Austria

Austrian contaminated sites law governs, on the one hand, the obligation to pay a contamination contribution for certain waste management activities and, on the other hand, the identification, assessment, securing, and remediation of contaminated sites. With the new Contaminated Sites Remediation Act, effective since January 1, 2025, liability for contaminated sites has been fundamentally redefined.

What we do: We review potential exemptions from the contribution obligation, support and represent you during audits by the customs authorities, and handle your determination procedure for the contamination contribution. We advise and represent you in your contaminated sites remediation project, including with respect to funding matters. We also provide advice and representation if you wish to avoid liability for securing or remediating a contaminated site.
