CLIMATE PROTECTION LAW

Climate Protection Law

European climate protection law is based on the European Climate Law (2021), which commits the EU to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. Key instruments include the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for industry and energy, the Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR) setting national targets for transport, buildings, and agriculture, as well as the LULUCF Regulation covering land use and forestry. Austrian climate protection law relies on the Climate Protection Act, the national emissions trading system, the implementation regulations for the EU Emissions Trading System, and the Renewable Expansion Act.

What we do: We advise, represent, and support you in your projects related to renewable energy, the application of national emissions trading regulations, and the provisions governing the EU Emissions Trading System.
