EIA

Environmental Impact Assessment in Austria

First introduced in Austria in 1993, re-enacted in 2000, and subsequently amended several times, the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (UVP-G 2000) regulates the systematic evaluation of environmental impacts of major projects and their consolidated approval. EIA procedures are complex, generate significant effort for both applicants and authorities, and often take several years to complete. Not every project exceeding the thresholds set by the UVP-G 2000 is necessarily subject to an EIA; it can sometimes be avoided through a preliminary UVP determination procedure (individual case assessment).

What we do: EIA determination and approval procedures are our specialty. Since our firm's founding, we have successfully handled countless EIA approval and determination procedures across all federal states. We know exactly how EIA procedures work.
